Wave of CoroCoro Information + Scans

A wave of CoroCoro information and scans have arrived, showing us new Pokemon, types and attacks of a couple of already-known Pokemon, the evil team of this region, and more!

What we currently know:

  • Xerneas is a pure Fairy-Type & Yveltal is a Dark/Flying type.
  • Xerneas is known as the Life Pokemon and Yveltal is known as the Destruction Pokemon (seems like this generation is focusing on themes of life and death).
  • Both Xerneas and Yveltal have type-powering moves. Xerneas knows Fairy Aura which improves the power of Fairy type moves, while Yveltal knows Dark Aura which improves the power of Dark type moves.
  • Xerneas and Yveltal also have exclusive moves. Xerneas has an attack called Geomancy, which shows multi-colored beams emanating from the ground and slowly moving out through the field. Yveltal, on the other hand, knows a move known as Oblivion Wing, where it shoots a red beam to the opponent Pokemon.

The other known function is the Happy Sign which tells you about the feelings and actions of your friends. Special O Powers gives the player the ability to use/receive from different players.

    Honedge (English) & Masuda’s Video

Yesterday, Hitotsuki was revealed at a Japan Expo in France, showcasing the new Pokemon during battle and changing between its un/sheathed form. Today, the official Pokemon website has announced its English name: Honedge.

    Sword-Pokemon-X-and_Y

Honedge comes into being when a departed spirit inhabits a sword that once belonged to humans. It can use the blue cloth attached to its hilt as nimbly as an arm. If you were to carelessly take this blade in hand, you may find that blue cloth wrapping around you…draining the energy from your body!

  • Type: Steel/Ghost
  • Height: 2’07”
  • Weight: 4.4 lbs.
  • Below is a video of Junichi Masuda revealing the new Pokemon. He also talks about his travels to French and how it became to be the main focus for this region.

    New Pokemon Revealed: “Monorpale” (French)

A new Pokemon was revealed during the Japan Expo. Monorpale (French name) and Hitotsuki (Japanese name) is a Steel/Ghost type Pokemon that represents a sword. The first picture shows it in its sheathed form with some sort of scarf-like feature hanging out from the stem of the sword.

In a battle, this Pokemon will unsheathe itself and will compact the outer protective structure and “hang it on” the elongated scarf-feature.

This Pokemon has not been revealed yet in English. Maybe we will end up seeing it in Junichi Masuda’s message
